Begin the high-priority life-safety audit by performing a Ground-Fault-Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Functional-Validation of all required wet-location outlets. The primary objective is to verify that the electronic Trip-Solenoid inside each GFCI is capable of de-energizing the circuit within 25 milliseconds when a Leakage-Current of 4 to 6 milliamperes is detected, as this rapid disconnection is the only defense against a lethal electrical shock in bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas. Start by performing the Physical-Manual-Test: go to every GFCI outlet and press the TEST button; the RESET button should immediately pop out with an audible Click, and any plugged-in device (like a nightlight) should lose power.
