Begin the high-priority fire-prevention audit by performing an Arc-Fault-Circuit-Interrupter (AFCI) Diagnostic-Validation of all living area and bedroom circuits. The primary objective is to verify that the AFCI breakers are capable of recognizing the unique Signature-Waveform of a dangerous electrical arc—the localized sparking that occurs when a nail pierces a wire or a lamp cord becomes frayed—evacuating power before the arc generates enough heat to ignite the surrounding wood or insulation.
